SPM-kickoff-2

The SPM² project (Sustainable Project Management through PM²) officially launched with its kick-off meeting on December 10–11, 2024, at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. This groundbreaking initiative, co-funded by the European Union, brings together a strong consortium of partners dedicated to integrating sustainability into project management education.

Bringing Sustainability into Project Management

The SPM² project aims to modernize project management training by embedding sustainability principles into the PM² methodology, aligning with the European Green Deal and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By equipping higher education institutions (HEIs) and vocational education and training (VET) centers with sustainability-focused tools and curricula, the project prepares professionals for the challenges of a greener economy.

During the two-day meeting, partners outlined key objectives and work packages, focusing on:

  • The development of the SPM² Guide & Digital Hub, a knowledge platform offering tools and best practices for sustainable project management.
  • The creation of industry-aligned micro-credentials to enhance employability in sustainability-focused project roles.
